Book Available to Order Now!!

So, it’s happened.  As of last night about 10pm, the publisher started pre-sale orders for the book.  There was a bit of confusion (for a time it showed as “Sold Out” — that sure would have been fast).  Now you can go to the link below and buy it.  These will be hardback books with my signature.  I will receive them in a few days (they’re on their way in a truck) and start signing.  The publisher estimates that they will start shipping about Nov. 10th.  This initial run is not huge (small publisher), but be assured that as long as fans keep ordering it, the printer will keep printing it.  But the sooner you buy it, the more certainty that you will have it for the holidays.  It will be available late in the month from Amazon (hardcover, softcover, then Kindle).  Signed copies will continue to be available only through the publisher’s store.  Below is the link to order from Jacobs Brown:

Book PRE-SALES About to Start!

Many of you have been asking when the book will be available for sale.  We are within HOURS of the publisher activating their on-line store to take your orders.  Here’s what you do: Go to jacobsbrownmediagroup.com.  On their home page, simply tap on SHOP to go to their store.  All of their books currently for sale are there.  Simply tap on a title and buy.  Currently, “Previously on X-Men” is in their COMING SOON section.  When they make it available for sale (late today or early tomorrow), it will be shifted to the SHOP section.  Once the books arrive (late this week), I will need some time to sign a bunch (all books bought through Jacobs Brown will be signed), and, I guess unless you choose faster shipping, “book rate” shipping will take about a week.  So, if you need to be one of the first, check their site every couple of hours.  We will be.

Fun at LA Comic Con

Jordan Gorfinkel (“Gorf”) of the LA Comic Con was nice enough to serve as host to Julia, Larry Houston, and me for a celebratory panel on the near-anniversary (coming Tuesday) of the first sneak preview of X-Men:TAS in 1992 (please see us all in the picture below).  The standing-room-only crowd was great, as were the many cosplayers (see other photo) who reminded us how much the show still means to many fans.  The book is on the way from the printer, so some time this week we will, after three years, have it in our hands.  Can’t wait.

The Book, Facebook, and WolverSteve

So the book on the making of X-MEN:TAS is finally on its way (pre-orders begin October 31!).  “Set up a Facebook page about it,” everybody says.  Okay.  But we needed a fun new image, something to do with the book, for the page’s banner.  So what comes to us, out of the ether, but a perfectly cobbled-together image from our long-time friend in Lincolnshire, England, “WolverSteve” (aka Stephen Paulson).  Now every time you go to our new Facebook page (Previously on X-Men), you will be able to enjoy WolverSteve’s clever composition.  If you like it, let him know.  And as to our new Facebook page: It is specifically about the book.  Or is trying to be.  It doesn’t take the place of this site, to which we remain committed.

X-Men BOOK at the Printer!

“It’s being printed!”  What great words to hear all these months after starting work on the book in January of 2015.  Reviewers, bookstores, and libraries will soon be receiving e-copies to let them evaluate our 450-page celebration of the show we all remember so fondly.

These are ESTIMATES, and there could be delays, but word is that presale payments for direct sales from the publisher will be taken, appropriately, on the 25th anniversary of the premier of the series (10/31/17).

Hardback books should ship to U.S. buyers within a couple of weeks (early November).  They will be available directly from the publisher’s store (jacobsbrownmediagroup.com) and then from Amazon and from your local bookstores if they have stocked them.  The advantage of buying from Jacobs Brown directly is that you will get a signed copy.  Paperback copies will be available about 2 weeks after that (mid-November),  then Kindle copies 2 weeks after that (end of November).

For international buyers, the affordable way to get the book is through your local Amazon site.  This will be PAPERBACK AND KINDLE ONLY (same size book, 10″x7″) and printed locally based on demand.  Look for them to be available late November.  An expensive alternative for non-U.S. buyers is to buy directly from the publisher.  This would get you early access to the book, and it would be a signed hardback — but shipping is so expensive for an over-two-pound package from the U.S., even to Canada, that the publisher will charge you a $50 fee for it.  If you gotta be the first to have the book, it is an option.

So, happy days here!  And after you get a chance to read it, please let us know what you think at xmentas92@gmail.com.
